Jack Smith (March 28, 1945 - October 11, 2012) Jack Smith of Bokchito, Oklahoma passed away in Durant, Oklahoma on Thursday, October 11, 2012 at the age of 67 years, 6 months and 14 days. He was born on Wednesday, March 28, 1945 in Modesto, California to Emogene Smith. Jack was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bokchito, Oklahoma. He was a jack-of-all trades working on lawn mowers, working on farms for different people and had worked for Beames Hill Stop. Jack could be seen riding his lawn mower around town. He enjoyed playing dominoes and watching western movies. Mr. Smith is survived by his daughter, Tina Smith of Texas; brothers, Jerry Houston and wife Ethel of Bokchito, Oklahoma and Dave Fanning of Bokchito, Oklahoma; sisters, Mary Stovall of Oklahoma and Ann Canen of Oakdale, California; niece, Theresa Houston of Bokchito, Oklahoma; nephews, David Houston and wife Alyce of Atoka, Oklahoma, Jason Canen and wife Tiffany of Freemont, California, Jeremy Canen and wife Mona of Dublin, California, Bradley Houston of Bokchito, Oklahoma, Joseph Stovall of Oklahoma and Andy Stovall of Oklahoma; great nephews, Cole, Aiden and Tyler Canen of Freemont, California. Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his mother, Emogene Davis; grandparents, Cale and Grace Smith. Family Hour will be from 3-4:00 P.M. on Sunday, October 14, 2012 at the Holmes ~ Coffey ~ Murray Funeral Home in Durant, Oklahoma. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, October 15, 2012 at the Holmes Coffey Murray Chapel with Rev. Phillip Rowland officiating. Interment will follow at Bokchito Cemetery in Bokchito, Oklahoma. Serving as pallbearers will be David Houston, Bradley Houston, John Teel, Russell Thompson, A.J. McCann and Danny Rose. Honorary pallbearers will be Daniel Fults, Mike Trammell, James Beames, Danny Thomas, Junior Fults and Richard Owens.
