Provided by sulley (# 48696456): Daughter of Vojtech Soukup and Anna Lepsova Lepsa (b. 1818 Ceske Budejovice District, Czech Republic; d. in U.S. 1875-1880). Family immigrated to the United States on May 6, 1875. _________ Brainard Clipper (Brainard, Nebr.), August 16, 1923, p. 1, col. 5 Mrs. Elizabeth Fuxa Mrs. Elizabeth Fuxa passed away at her home in Brainard at 3:25 o'clock last Thursday afternoon, after a year's suffering with cancer of the intestines. She was 69 years, 9 months and 9 days of age. Elizabeth Soukup was her maiden name and she was born in Czechoslovakia, Europe, on October 30, 1853. She was united in marriage to Jacob Fuxa and they became the parents of seven children three of which died in childhood. The living children are Thomas, James and Charles and Mrs. Vincent Foral, all of this community. Mr. and Mrs. Fuxa immigrated to America living for several years in Wisconsin and later came to Nebraska, where they lived for many years on a farm several miles north of Brainard until they retired and moved to town about 11 years ago. Mr. Fuxa died in 1918. Funeral services were held in Holy Trinity Catholic church conducted by Rt. Rev. Msgr. Klein on Saturday morning at 10 o'clock and burial was in the Catholic cemetery.
