According to his probate file he died November 8, 1918 and was survived by his widow Elizabeth and four children: Thomas, Charles, James, and Anna Foral. Brother of Anna (Fuxa) Rehovsky . ''''''' The Brainard Clipper , November 14, 1918, p. 5, col. 4 Early Settler of Butler County Passes Away Jakub Fuksa, one of the early settlers of this vicinty, coming to Butler County when Brainard was a town unknown, died at his home in south Brainard Friday, November 8, at the age of 69 years, 3 months and 10 days after a few days illness of dropsy. Mr. Fuksa was born in Zvikov, Bohemia, July 28, 1849 where he grew to manhood. When -6 [ first digit obscured ] years of age he came to America and settled at La Crosse, Wisconsin, where he met and married Miss Elizabeth Soukup, November 14, 1876, to this union four children were born three boys and one girl. In 1870 Mr. Fuksa and family moved to Butler County and settled on a farm north east of Brainard where they resided until six years ago they moved and have made their home in south Brainard. Deceased was a good christian and loyal to his faith. Besides his many Friends he leaves a devoted wife four children, Thomas, Charles and James Fuksa and Mrs. Anna Foral, and one sister, Mrs. Thos. Rehovsky, all of whom reside in Butler County and were at his bedside at the time of death. Funeral services were conducted at the Catholic church in Brainard, by Msgr. Alois J. Klein, Monday morning at 10:00 o'clock. Interment was in the Bohemian Catholic Cemetery. __ Card of Thanks We wish to thank the many friends and relatives for their kindness during the illness and death of our beloved husband and father.
