JANKY DIED VERY SUDDENLY FRIDAY (By Our Chapman Correspondent) The death of Mrs. Frank Janky, Sr., at Chapman Friday morning was a sudden and cruel blow to our community. The husband, missing her, found her out in the yard in an outhouse about 11:00 o'clock A. M., in a dying condition and with the help of several men, she was carried to the house and death followed at 3:30 Friday morning, caused by paralysis. Mrs. Marie Janky was born in Bohemia, and died at Chapman, Nebraska, Sept. 23, 1921, being 72 years, 3 months and 22 days of age at the time of her death. She had been in failing health for the past two years but her death came very unexpectedly. About forty years ago she was united in marriage with Frank Janky at Omaha, Nebr. Six children were born to this union, two dying in infancy and one son, Anton, preceded his mother in death about three years ago. Two sons, W. J. of Seward and F. J. of Chapman and one daughter, Mrs. Ed T. Rech of Ulysses, beside the husband survive the deceased. The family were all with her when she passed away. About seventeen years ago the family moved from Brainard, Nebr., to Chapman, where they have since resided. She was a faithful member of the Catholic church and a very devout Christian. Requiem High Mass was held at St. Michaels church in Central City by Father O'Connor Sunday morning and the body was taken to the old home of Brainard and laid to rest in the cemetery at that place about 4:00 that afternoon. Funeral services were held in Chapman, Sunday morning, and remains were brought to Brainard for burial which took place in the Catholic cemetery, about 4 o'clock Sunday afternoon. Mrs. Janky was a former resident of Brainard. __ CARD OF THANKS We wish to extend our sincere thanks to all those who so kindly assisted us at the burial of our beloved wife and other.
