Bio

Funeral services were held at First Methodist Church at Rising City on March 18 for Mrs. Tennessee Pearl Perry, 78, who died at her home in Rising City March 15. The Rev. Elmer Shaw was in charge of the services. Mrs. Wayne Ruth and Mrs. Don Ellison, vocalists, were accompanied by Mrs. Carl Hall, organist. Serving as pallbearers were Donald, Tom, and Phillip Perry, Kenneth Pope, Tom Topil, and Curtis Burgess. Burial was in Circle Mound Cemetery, Rising City. Mrs. Perry was born Dec. 24, 1884, at Cunnignham, Mo. She moved with her parents, Clinton and Fannie Rima, to Lena, Ill., when she was one year of age. When she was 15, they moved to Rising City, where she spent the remainder of her life. She was a member of the First Methodist Church at Rising City. On March 8, 1904, she was married to Gillis Perry. Four children were born to this union. She is survived by three sons, Harold Perry of Shelby, Clyde Perry of Yakima, Wash., Orville Perry of Rawlins, Wyo.; one daughter, Mrs. Lorney (Davise) Shunk of Rising City; a brother, Vern Rima of Shelton; two sisters, Mrs. Easter Wallace of Rising City and Mrs. Alta Schroeder of Hollister, Mo.; 11 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren; and many other relatives. She was preceded in death by her husband January 13, 1955, her parents, three sisters and one brother.
