Married Oct 7 1947 Valley Co., NE, Eva Chalupsky ----------------------------------------------------- Saturday Rites for LeRoy Wells LeRoy John Wells, 51, of Comstock died September 13, 1977 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lincoln. Mr. Wells was born September 1, 1926 at Ord to John and Agnes Hosek Wells. His early life was spent on the family farm with his parents where he attended rural schools in Valley and Custer Counties. LeRoy graduated from the Comstock High School with the class of 1944. He was united in marriage to Eva Chalupsky October 7, 1947 at the St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Geranium Township west of Ord. They made their home in Comstock and farmed in Custer County near Comstock and raised registered herefords. LeRoy was a member of the St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus #2388 of Broken Bow, the Broken Bow Elk's Lodge #1688, the Nebraska Stock Growers Association and the American Hereford Association. Survivors include his parents, John and Agnes Wells of Comstock; his wife, Eva of Comstock; three sons, Steven and wife (Sandy Svoboda) of Lincoln, Lawrence and wife (Peggy Kusek) of Lincoln and Michael and wife (Sherry Vodehnal) of Comstock, two grandsons, Jeffrey and Adam and one sister, Mrs. Iris Tvrdik of Burwell. Funeral services were held Saturday, September 17, 1977 at 10 am at the St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church 12 miles west of Ord with Father Joseph Szynal of Sargent officiating. Burial was in the Ord Catholic Cemetery. David and Mary Radliff provided music for the Mass. Pallbearers were John Vandewalle, Raymond Dowse, Brian Dowse, Bradley Griebel, James Ruzicka and Richard Stone. Ord Memorial Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
