Married Jul 11 1899 Ord, Valley, NE ----------------------------------------- Rites Saturday For Mrs. Charles Kokes Funeral services were held from Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church on Saturday for Mrs. Charles Kokes, 81, who died Thursday at the Burwell rest home. Interment followed at the Ord Catholic cemetery. Mrs. Kokes was born in Cleveland, Ohio, Jan. 19, 1877 to Joseph and Marie Slavicek. She came to Nebraska at the age of 14. She taught school for several years prior to marriage to Charles Kokes in 1899. The couple farmed for many years in Geranium township. They had three children, all of whom preceded their mother in death. Death came to Mrs. Kokes after a lingering illness. Surviving are her husband, two daughters-in-law, Mrs. Emil Kokes and Mrs. Ralph Ingram, a son-in-law, Edwin Ihrig, two sisters, Mrs. Frank Krikac and Mrs. Emil Zikmund.
