JOSEPH SLAVICEK DEAD Marie Trachty was born in Bohemia April 8, 1848, where she spent her girlhood days with her parents. She was married to Joseph Slavicek in 1866 and came to Cleveland, Ohio, in 1882. After 14 years in Cleveland, with her husband and family she moved to Valley county, where she passed the rest of her life on the old homestead in Michigan township. She was the mother of 16 children, 4 of whom died in infancy. Frank Slavicek died in Chicago in 1913 at the age of 45 years. Fannie died at Hastings, Nebr., at the age of 20 years; Rosie died at Hastings, Nebr., at the age of 20 years and Bessie died at home in 1914 at the age of 19 years. The living are Mrs. C.J. Thompson, of Dannebrog; Mrs. C. L. Kokes, Mrs. Frank Krikac, Mrs. Emil Zikmund, John and Will Slavicek of Ord; Charlie Slavicek of Chicago and Joseph Slavicek of Hastings. She also leaves a husband of 76 years to mourn her death. She died at her home on Sunday, April 28, aged 68 years and 20 days. This couple suffered, toiled and labored together for 50 years, 2 months and 22 days. The funeral was held from the ZCBJ hall last Sunday afternoon. The services were conducted by Ign. Klima. The remains were laid to rest in the new Bohemian cemetery north of Ord.
