CHARLES SCHOENER SR. Charles Schoener Sr., 79, of 902 N. William St., died at 11 p.m. Thursday in a local hospital following an extended illness. A retired farmer and stockman and resident of Victoria since 1910, Mr. Schoener was born Aug. 3, 1890, in Schulenburg, to the late Joseph and Veronica Lehnert Schoener. He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at Our Lady of Lourdes with the Rev. Thomas Collins officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of McCabe-Carruth Funeral Home. The body will lie in state at the church from 2 p.m. until time of services. Pallbearers will be Kenneth, Wayne, Gary and Bruce Meissner, Mike Riley and Jack Grimes. A Rosary was recited Friday night at the Our Lady of Lourdes. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Mary Schoener; a daughter, Mrs. Mabel Meissner and two sons, Al F. and Charles J. Schoener Jr., all of Victoria; a sister, Mrs. Annie Shaper of Humble; a brother, Adolph Schoener of Schulenburg; seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
