Bio
Ivan was born in Chico to Frank and Susie Seiler, and was the youngest of seven children. After graduating from Chico High School in 1941, he joined the Army Air Corp during WWII. In 1947 he married Thelma Powning and they had three children; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service as a letter carrier in Chico for 30 years. Ivan enjoyed traveling in their RV, square dancing, and taking cruises. He was a member of St. John's Catholic Church, and S.I.R.S. 63. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Thelma; and children, Ron (Lydia) of Chico; Rick (Kitty) of Redding; Kathy (Bob) of Bangor; and numerous nieces and nephews.
