Bio

The death of Mrs. Jakub Simecek occurred at the residence, south of Praha last Saturday, after about two weeks’ illness. Funeral services were held at the Catholic Church at Praha at ten o’clock Monday and the remains laid to rest in the Catholic Cemetery. Miss Vere Baca was born about one mile from Praha on September 24th, 1868. She was married to Mr. Jakub Simecek on Jan. 10, 1888 and has resided in this community continuously since. She is survived by a mother; one sister, Mrs. J.J. Simek; one brother, Mr. John Baca; a husband; six sons, John of Shiner, Joe of Schulenburg, Frank, Charles, Rudolph and Mat of this place, and four daughters, Mrs. Joe Smolik of Praha, Mrs. Ad. Migl of Novohrad, Mrs. Paul Brueggmann of Flatonia and Mrs. Wm. Jamelka. The Argus extends sympathy to the bereaved ones.
