CENTRAL CITY - Bernard F. Dubas, 89, of Central City died Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2012, at Litzenberg Memorial County Hospital in Central City. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Clarks, with the Rev. Richard Whiteing officiating. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery in Clarks. Wagner Funeral Home in Central City is assisting the family with the arrangements. Mr. Dubas was born Aug. 16, 1923, in Genoa to William and Anna (Tworek) Dubas. He grew up in the Krakow and Clarks area and received his education there. He was united in marriage to Margaret E. Andersen on June 21, 1958, at St. Mary's in Aurora. The couple lived north of Central City on the family farm. He was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church in Clarks, and then St. Michaels Catholic Church in Central City. Bernard was good at wood working and made cabinets. The couple loved to polka dance and go out to eat. He really enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Survivors left to cherish his memory include his wife, Margaret Dubas of Central City; a son, Andy Dubas of Central City; three daughters and sons-in-law, Anna and Robert Bialas of Grand Island, Margaret and Patrick Vigil of Commerce City, Colo., and Teresa and Phil Pisasale of Omaha; seven grandchildren, Benjamin, Bryan and Victoria Bialas of Grand Island, Joseph Vigil of Commerce City, Colo., and Cara, Thomas and Gina Pisasale of Omaha; a brother and sister-in-law, Eldon and Joanne Dubas of Central City; and two sisters and a brother-in-law, Ruth Kula of Chapman and Beata and Alfre) Nabity of Grand Island. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Conrad Dubas, and brother-in-law, Ray Kula. Published in The Grand Island Independent on September 27, 2012
