Born in the village of Lipnik, county of Hrotovice, county of Znojmo, Moravia, Austrian Empire (now in the Czech Republic). 1880 census (Linwood Precinct, Butler County, Nebr.): John Pollick (34, farmer, Bohemia), Mary (wife, 30, keeping house, Bohemia), Frank (son, 10, Bohemia), Frances (daughter, 6, Nebr.), Adolph (son, 4, Nebr.), Matilda (daughter, 6 months, born Dec., Nebr.), Emma (daughter, 6 months, born Nebr.), Mary Unash (sister-in-law, 58, widow, Bohemia), Joe Cole (28, laborer, Bohemia). 1900 census (Linwood Township, Butler County, Nebr.): John Palik (born June 1843, Moravia, farmer), Mary (wife, April 1846, Moravia, married 30 years, mother of seven children, five living), Rudolph (son, April 1876, Nebr., farm laborer), Emma (daughter, December 1879, Nebr.), Cyril (son, August 1893, Nebr., at school). _______________ The Brainard Clipper (Brainard, Nebr.), December 29, 1921, p. 4, cols. 2 & 3 BRUNO ITEMS John Palik died at his home Tuesday night at the age of seventy-eight. He had been in poor health for a number of years. The funeral was held Thursday morning and was in charge of the Z. C. K. J. lodge, who attended in a body. After Requiem High Mass at St. Anthony's church, the body was interred in the Catholic cemetery. The pall-bearers were Joseph Maca, Thomas Pelan, Sr., J. A. Proskovec, James Ptacek Jr., Joseph Stava and Joseph Kozisek, Jr. The sympathy of the entire community is extended to the bereaved.
