Burial will be held at Prairie Grove Cemetery in Talihina, Ok, under the direction of Hietts LyBrand Funeral Home. Helen passed away Nov. 28, 2010, in Terrell. Helen Marie Pyland was born Jan. 5, 1922 in Talihina, Ok, to Ed and Ruby Brewer Pyland. She grew up in Talihina, where she graduated from high school. She married Gib Crites in 1940, and they made their home in Dallas, until his death in 1953. She later met Charles Stewart and they married in 1958. They made their home in Talihina, Ok, and after the death of Charles in 1989, Helen decided to move to Wills Point to be near her daughter. Helen loved collecting antiques and attending garage sales. She was a member of Eastern Star and Calvary Baptist Church. Helen is preceded in death by husbands, Gib Crites and Charles Stewart, son, John Edward Crites, daughter, Shirley Wilcoxson and brother, Troy Pyland. She is survived by sons, Don Stewart and wife, Vicki of Plano and Tom Stewart and wife, Gay of Anchorage, Alaska, sister, Joyce Boss of Abilene; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, special nieces and nephews, and other family members.
