City of Dallas Fire Fighter; Killed in the Line of Duty. Fell through roof of building while fighting a fire. Husband of Helen Marie Pyland Crites. Son of John W. Crites. Father of John Edward "Eddie" Crites born Dec 24, 1943 and died Jun 21 1999 Grand Prairie Texas. (Location of burial is unknown at this time). Father of Shirley Marie Crites Wilcoxson born Nov 26, 1942 in Dallas Texas and died Nov. 18, 2010 in Kaufman Texas, she lived in Wills Point, Van Zandt county, Texas. (Location of her burial is unknown at this time.) Their mother was Helen Marie Pyland Crites Stewart, born Jan 5 1922 in Talihina, Le Flore County, Oklahoma, and died Nov. 29, 2010 in Terrell, Kaufman County, Texas. Helen lived in Wills Point, Texas near her daughter. Helen was buried in Prairie Grove Cemetery,Talihina, Oklahoma, with her second husband Charles Stewart.
