BARNETT, BELLE MARY *MARY*-- Mary Kester Barnett was born to William O. and Anna Mae Wolen Kester on January 30, 1897, at Haddam, Kas., and died on October 10, 1980, at the Fillmore County hospital in Geneva, at the age of 83 years, 8 months and 10 days. She was one of six children in the family. She resided in Lincoln and Crete for a number of years before moving to Geneva in 1939. She taught school after finishing high school. For many years she helped her husband in the photography studio until they retired. She was married to William A. Barnett of Lincoln, and to them two children were born, son Ronald K. and Dores L. She was preceded in death by her husband, William; her parents; three sisters; two brothers and one granddaughter. She is survived by her son, Ronald K. of Geneva; daughter, Dores L. Smith of Maitland, Mo.; six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Mary was loved by her family and grandchildren and leaves to mourn her passing many friends and relatives. Funeral services were conducted from the Farmer & Son funeral home in Geneva at 2 p.m. on Monday, October 13, 1980, with Rev. Jay Funk officiating. Pallbearers were: William Hix, Gene Smith, Melvin Kester, Bob Riley, Leland Krug and Francis Kimbrough. Interment was in the Geneva cemetery next to her husband.
