Born in the village of Dubyany, town of Hrotovice, county of Znojmo, Moravia, Austrian Empire (now in the Czech Republic). According to his probate file he died October 27, 1911 and was survived by his wife Antonie and six children: Mary Shonka of Colfax County, Nebr., and Catherine Gruntorad, Anna Roh, Joseph J. Prochaska, Frank Prochaska, and Vaclav Prochaska, all of Butler County.
