Sherman Co. Times, Loup City, Nebraska 10 Feb 1994 Grand Island Daily Independent 4 Feb. 1994 Ben. F. Woitaszewski, 86, of Grand Island died Thursday, Feb. 3, at Tiffany Square. Services were at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Cathedral. The Rev. James O'Kane officiated. Burial was in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation was from 4 To 9 p.m. Sunday with a rosary At 7:30 p.m. at Livingston-Sondermann Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to masses or donor's choice. Mr. Woitaszewski was born Jan. 29, 1908, in Sherman County To Paul and Anna (Grudzinski) Woitaszewski. He attended elementary school in Shopps. He began farming in Sherman County in 1928. On Oct. 21, 1930, he married Delphine Krolikowski at Loup City. They moved to a farm near Cairo in 1945, and near Farwell in 1953. In 1957 he moved to the Grand Island area and worked on various farms. In the early 1960's, Mr. Woitaszewski began working for the Grand Island Public Schools, retiring as a janitor at Grand Island Senior High in 1976. He was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral and the Platt-Duetsche Society. He enjoyed playing drums and banjo in the Fair Valley Orchestra in the 1930s. Survivors include his wife; seven children, LaVern Woitaszewski of Wood River, Ira Woitaszewski of Ogden, Utah, Leona (Mrs. Jack) Gladfelter of Wichita, Kan., Jim Woitaszewski of Casper, Wyo., Mary (Mrs. Dennis) Harb and Ron Woitaszewski, both of Grand Island, and Don Woitaszewski of Cody, Wyo., 15 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; one great great grandson; two brothers, Dean of Loup City and Richard of Ord; and two sisters, Barbara Stoumbaugh of Omaha and Della Mae (Mrs. Richard) Oltman of Loup City. He was preceded in death by two brothers, one sister and one grandchild.
