Della Mae Oltman, of Loup City, NE., died Monday, Jan. 7, 2013, at the Rose Lane Home in Loup City, NE. Della Mae was born on May 19, 1933, at Loup City, the daughter of Paul and Anna (Grudzinski) Woitaszewski. She was united in marriage to Richard L. Oltman on Oct. 1, 1949, at Loup City. He preceded her in death on Aug. 8, 2000. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Deb Oltman of Bennington and Tim and Necole Oltman of Loup City; five daughters and four sons-in-law, Patty and Brian Beckner of Columbus, Joyce Toczek of La Junta, CO, Diann and Steve Racette of Oakley, KS, Susan and Earl Jordan of Troy, TX and Barbara and John Kuta of Loup City; and one sister, Barbara Stumbaugh of Omaha. She is also survived by 27 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. Della Mae grew up in Loup City where she attended Sherman County rural schools and Loup City High School. After her marriage to Richard, the couple lived in various Central Nebraska communities and returned to Loup City in 1962. Over the years she worked as a waitress, at the Cornhusker Army Ammunitions Plant in Grand Island, G & G Manufacturing and Rose Lane Home both in Loup City. After Richard's death she continued to live in her home until April 2005 when she moved to Rose Lane Home, where she lived the rest of her life. She was a member of St. Josaphat's Catholic Church and its Council of Catholic Women , the American Legion Auxiliary of Loup City and the Red Hat Ladies. Della Mae loved her grandchildren and enjoyed polka music, and playing the piano and accordion. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a great-grandson, Corbin Atchison; a sister, Sylvia Woitaszewski; and six brothers, infant John, and Ben, Louie, Ted, Dean and Richard Woitaszewski. Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery, Loup City, NE. Published in Kearney Hub on January 9, 2013
