Bio

Charles Haskell Templeton was born August 2, 1888 in Texas, son of Ezekiel Lemuel Templeton (1842-1928) and Mary Willeford (1843-1894). The 1900 Federal Census for Justice Precinct 3, Texas (Fannin County) shows Charlie Templeton, age 11, born in August 1888 in Texas; living with his father, Ezekiel Templeton, a widower and a farmer, age 58, born February 1842 in Tennessee. Also living in the household were Charlie's siblings: Minnie Templeton, age 18, born February 1882; Claudia Templeton, age 14, born February 1884; and Lula Templeton, age 14, born April 1886; all born in Texas. The 1920 Federal Census for Speairs, Oklahoma (Bryan County) shows C. H. Templeton, a farm operator, age 31, born in Texas; and his wife, Birdie, age 23, born in Oklahoma. Living with them were two children: Gene M. Templeton, age 4 years 3 months; and Mary Templeton, age 1 year 8 months; as well as a niece, Maude B. Templeton, age 9, born in Arkansas. The 1930 Federal Census for Durant, Oklahoma (Bryan County) shows Charles H. Templeton, a barber, age 37, born in Texas; and his wife, Birdie S., age 33, born in Oklahoma. Living with them were three children: Gene M. Templeton, age 14; Mozelle Templeton, age 5; and Jo A. Templeton, age 6 months; all born in Oklahoma. Charles died June 7, 1952 in Durant, Oklahoma (Bryan County) and was buried there in the Highland Cemetery. Husband of Birdie (Bohannon) Templeton
