His gravestone inscription incorrectly states he died 10 list. [November] L. P. 1910 rather than December 10. Born in the village of Nasavrky, town of Habry, county of Caslov, Bohemia, Austrian Empire (now in the Czech Republic). Emigrated to the United States with his wife and children in 1869. Initially settled in Skull Creek Township, Butler County, Nebraska (1870 census) before moving to neighboring Linwood Township where he farmed (1880, 1885, and 1900 census records). According to the 1900 census he was a blacksmith, born March 1840 in Bohemia, immigrated 1869, and lived in Linwood Township with his wife Fanny and brother Josef Prochaska . ''''''''''''''''''' Butler County Press (David City, Nebr.), December 15, 1910, p. 9, col. 3 Abie Grandpa Prochaska died last Sunday morning and was buried Tuesday in the Catholic cemetery at Abie. ____ Linwood Frank Prochaska, aged over 70 years, died Saturday, Dec. 10, on his farm, now owned by his son Frank, with whom he made his home of late years. He was one of the pioneers of this community. He resided about three miles south of Linwood. He went through all the hardships in the early days. He had many friends. All who knew him liked him, as he was one who was always willing to help where help was needed. He was buried Tuesday from the Catholic church at Abie in the Abie cemetery.
