Bio

Born in the village of Pistina, town of Jindr. Hradec, county of Budejovice, Bohemia, Austrian Empir (now in the Czech Republic). Married Teresie Kulhana on September 20, 1869 in La Crosse County, Wisconsin. According to the 1870 census he was 30 years old, born Bohemia, worked as a stonemason, and lived in La Crosse, Wisconsin with his wife. By 1880 the couple moved to Butler County, Nebr. where they farmed in Skull Creek precinct with their two daughters. According to the census John was 40 years old, born Bohemia. In 1885 he was 43 years old, born Bohemia, farmed in Skull Creek precinct with his wife and three daughters, and in 1900 he was born May 1841 in Bohemia, emigrated to the United States in 1867, and farmed in Skull Creek precinct with his wife, two daughters, and son. Father Bauer conducting the services. Mr. Liskovec was 70 years of age and a resident of this community for many years, before going two years ago to live in his son's home. His wife died several years ago. The sympathy of the entire community is extended to the bereaved. Benesch motored to Rising City Sunday in response to a message stating that Mrs. Benesch’s father, John Liskovec, was very ill with pneumonia. Mr. Liskovec passed away the following Wednesday forenoon.
