Funeral services for Marie Howard, 93, will be at 2 pm Fri in Wood-Dunning Colonial Chapel with Leon Clift, pastor of New Beginnings Fellowship Church in Stephenville, officiating. Burial will be in Olton Cemetery by Wood-Dunning Funeral Home. Mrs. Howard died at 4 am Wed, Jul 4, 2001, in Guardian Angel Living Center in Tucumcari, NM. She was born Jul 6, 1907, in Scurry Co. On Jan 1, 1927, she married John Floyd Howard in Olton. He died Sep 8, 1972. She was a farmer's wife in Lamb Co. in the Olton area for 70 years. She attended First Assembly of God Church in Plainview. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Lucielle and Anthony Henegar of Tucumcari; a son, Melvin D. Howard of Longview; three sisters, Edith Mayberry of San Angelo and Vera Rucker and June Davis, both of Hereford; and four grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6-7:30 pm today at the funeral home. The family is staying at the R.L. and Oleta Owens residence in Plainview. Plainview Daily Herald - Jul 5, 2001
