Edna Earle Childress was born August 21, 1879 in Kennedale, Texas (Tarrant County), daughter of Asbury McDonald 'Mack' Childress and Susan Hudson. The 1900 Federal Census for Justice Precinct 1, Texas (Tarrant County) shows Edna Harris, a widow, age 21, born August 1878 in Texas; living with her father, Mack Childress, a farmer, age 51, born March 1848 in Texas. Also in the household was Edna's son, Olen Harris, age 2, born November 1897 in Texas; and Edna's siblings, Adolphus Childress, a farm laborer, age 18, born June 1881; and Dick Childress, a farm laborer, age 14, born August 1886; both born in Texas. She first married _____ Harris, and had two children, Olen Harris and Fay Harris. She second married Hardy Jones, who was born January 23, 1877 in Miller, Missouri (Lawrence County), son of John Henry Jones (1847- ) and Nancy Henderson Wakefield (1850- ). The 1910 Federal Census for Fort Worth Ward 12, Texas(Tarrant County) shows Edna Jones, age 31, born in Texas; and her husband, Hardy Jones, a laborer, age 33, born in Missouri. Living with them were Edna's children by a former marriage: Olen Harris, age 11; and Fay Harris, age 8; both born in Texas; as well as Hardy and Edna's son, Paul Jones, age 4 months, born in Texas. In addition, Edna's father, MacDonald Childress, a widower and a carpenter, age 62, born in Texas; was living with the family. The 1920 Federal Census for Albany, Oklahoma (Bryan County) shows Edna Jones, age 41, born in Texas; and her husband, Hardy Jones, a farmer, age 42, born in Missouri. Living with them were three children: Paul Jones, age 10, born in Texas; Lois Jones, age 7, born in Texas; and Mildred Jones, age 1 year 8 months, born in Oklahoma. Also living in the household were Edna's children by a former marriage: Olen Harris, age 21; and Fay Harris, age 18; both born in Texas. Hardy died July 8, 1951 in Fort Worth, Texas (Tarrant County) and was buried in Durant, Oklahoma (Bryan County) in the Highland Cemetery. Edna died May 24, 1956 in Fort Worth, Texas (Tarrant County) and was buried in Durant in Highland Cemetery beside her husband.
