Mrs. John Bell -- Died in the thirty-fourth year of age at 3:15 o'clock Tuesday morning, February 18, 1908, Augusta, the beloved wife of John Bell, who lives west of town. One more home is left desolate by the sad and silent departure of one who will be mourned by the motherless babe and the disconsolate husband. The deceased was, the the mother of nine children, all of whom survive her, ranging in age from one to sixteen years. The sad obsequies took place at Geneva, followed to her last resting place by a long concourse of sorrowing relatives and friends. For the past several weeks she had been an acute sufferer, and after days of prolonging consented to an operation which was performed Monday with the result of removing an 18 pound tumor, and from which effects, and from the long and disastrous effects of the malady, she failed to recover, though no blame is attached to operators. It is the belief that prior to her death she had consigned her soul to the tender keeping and care of Jesus, and thus passed to her Great Reward as one of the redeemed. To the motherless babes, to the sorrow-stricken husband, to the bereaved and bereft, in this, their hour of sadness, sorrow and gloom, The Reporter extends to them its friendly condolence; trusting that the thread of life on earth is broken, only to be re-united in eternity —Strang Reporter.
