September 5, 2012 Edith M. Adams By ADAM RAEDERStar Beacon KINGSVILLE — Edith M. "Edi" Adams, age 81, of Kingsville, Ohio, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Sunday, Sept. 2, 2012, at Ashtabula County Medical Center, Ashtabula, Ohio. She was born Jan. 13, 1931, in Brockway, Pa., the daughter of Ralph and Frieda (Weisenfluh) Kifer. Edi earned her bachelor's degree in elementary education from Clarion College, Pa., and taught school – primarily Kindergarten-- for 24 years. She loved her students and they loved her. Over the years, many grown adults would greet and hug their former teacher…some as recently as last week. She was a Kingsville resident since 1965 and was a member of the Federated Church of East Springfield, Pa., where she taught the kindergarten Sunday School class and led the Golden Circle Class. She also taught the Bible Club of Kingsville Elementary School. She volunteered as a Friend of Kingsville Public Library. Mom enjoyed camping with her husband and twin sons in her younger years, and playing with her grandchildren in later years. She loved cooking and baking for friends, neighbors and missionaries. Survivors include her husband, John F. Adams whom she married June 13, 1953; sons, Daniel J. (Carol) Adams of Cuyahoga Fall, Ohio and Dennis J. (Pam) Adams of Stow, Ohio; six grandchildren, Jennifer (Russell) Tinkham, Kathleen (Jim) Malone, Emily (Chris) Noatch, Ben (Kate) Adams, Jonathon Adams and Rachel (Jordan) Fairfax; and six great-grandchildren with the seventh due in November. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Betty Thompson; and two brothers, Ralph Kifer and Bob Kifer. Funeral Service will be 3 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 6th, at MARCY FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION CENTER, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut, Ohio, with the Rev. Ed Huntley, pastor of the Federated Church of East Springfield, Pa., officiating. Burial will be Friday in Ott Cemetery, Ridgway, Pa. Friends may call from 1 p.m. until the time of Service, Thursday, at the Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Federated Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
