Bio
Herald Coaster, March 19, 1985: Funeral services for Fred William Stavinoha, 75, of Wharton, were held Saturday at the Holy Family Catholic Church, with Father Joe Koebel officiating. Burial followed at the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery. Rosary services were held Friday at the Wharton Funeral Home Chapel. Stavinoha died Thursday at a local hospital after a lengthy illness. Before his retirement, Stavinoha worked 25 years for Wharton County Precinct No. 1. Survivors include three daughters, Virginia Wootonn of Wharton, Shirley Dawson of Richmond, and Patricia Drymalla of Rosenberg; two sons, Marvin L. Stavinoha of Austin and Robert Gene Stavinoha of Rosenberg; a sister, Stella Derrick of El Campo; 17 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
