'''''''''''''''''''''' The Banner-Press (David City, Nebr.), May 15, 1958, p. 5, col. 5 & 6 Mrs. Fanny Polacek Dies At Age 82 Funeral services for Mrs. Fanny Polacek, 82, were held Tuesday, May 6 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Bruno, where the Requiem High Mass was offered by Msgr. F. J. Kopecky at 9 a.m. The music was by the church choir. Pallbearers were Daniel Meduna, Victor Polacek, Edward Skolnik, Clarence Krenk, Gary Polacek and Ray Rech. Interment was in the church cemetery beside the grave of her husband, Frank Polacek, who preceded her in death on April 19, 1946. Members of St. Anthony's Altar Society attended in a body. Mrs. Polacek had been ill for nearly a year and died at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Rudolf Rech of David City May 3. She had also been cared for during the past several months in the homes of Mr. and Mrs. Emil Krenk of Abie and Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Polivka of Brainard. Fanny Sajtl was born in Moravia, Czechoslovakia on March 3, 1876. She came as a young girl to the United States and Nebraska with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Sajtl. Her marriage to Frank Polacek was solemnized in Sts. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church at Plasi in 1898. Two sons and three daughters were born to them, Anton of Brainard and Adolph of Bruno; Mrs. Thomas (Ludmilla) Polivka of Brainard, Mrs. Rudolph J. (Hattie) Rech of David City and Mrs. Emil (Rose) Krenk of Abie, all of whom survive. Other survivors include twelve grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren. Mr. and Mrs. Polacek farmed until retiring and moving to Bruno in December, 1935. She was the last surviving member of her parents' family. Her parents, a brother Cyril Sajtl, and sisters, Mrs. Anastasia Capoun, Mrs. Agnes Janak, Mrs. Mary Bohuslav and Mrs. Pelan, preceded her in death. Attending the funeral from away were relatives from Topeka, Kans., Lincoln, Valley, Crete, Valparaiso and Dwight. __ p. 7, col. 8 CARD OF THANKS We wish to thank everyone for their kind and thoughtful expressions of sympathy and for the cards, spiritual bouquets and floral offerings at the loss of our beloved mother and grandmother.
