Daughter of Joseph and Antonie (Svoboda) Pokorny. Married Anton Polacek on November 18, 1907 at Blessed Assumption of Mary Catholic Church, Appleton, Nebr. Polacek, 87, who died Friday, Dec. 15, at her home in Bruno, were conducted Monday morning, Dec. 18, from St. Anthony's Church. Officiating was the Rev. Stanley Schieffer. Pallbearers were grandsons, David, Jim and Jerry Proskovec, Louis Polacek, Richard Rerucha, and Dennis Pohl. Burial was in the parish cemetery. Anna, the daughter of Joseph Pokorney and Antoinette Caspar, was born Aug. 12, 1885, in the Appleton community. She was married Nov. 18, 1907, to Anton V. Polacek. Three children were born to this union. Mrs. Polacek was a member of St. Anthony's Church. She is survived by her three children, Louis A. Polacek of Bruno, Mrs. James I. (Alice) Proskovec of Bellwood, and Miss Helen E. Polacek of Bruno; one sister, Mrs. Albina Krenk of Linwood; nine grandchildren, Mrs. Richard Rerucha, Mrs. Dennis Pohl, Louis W. Polacek, David, Jimmie, Jerry, Judy, Alice and Mary Ann Proskovec and four great-grandchildren, Christine Pohl, and LuAnne, Tom and Patty Rerucha. Preceding her in death were her husband, parents, one brother and five sisters.
