''''''' The Banner-Press (David City, Nebr.), July 21, 1969, p. 9, col. 6-8 Funeral Services Held Saturday For Mrs. Minnie Haney, 86 Funeral services were held Saturday morning, July 16, at St. Mary's Church in David City for Minnie Alice Powers Haney, 86, who died at St. Vincent's Home, Omaha, after a short illness. Officiating was Father Edwin Stander. Pallbearers were Clete Haney, Charles Branigan, and Dean Harris all of Omaha, Ben Parolek of Fremont, Eugene Haney of Council Bluffs, Iowa, and John Mulgrue of Lincoln. Honorary pallbearers were nephews of Mrs. Haney. Burial was at St. Mary's Cemetery, David City. Minnie Alice Haney, daughter of Peter and Anna Powers, was March 3, 1880, in Butler county. She attended St. Bonaventure in Columbus and Fremont College. On June 20, 1905, she was united in marriage to John Haney at St. Peter's Church in Bellwood. To this union ten children were born. Minnie Haney was a former teacher. She was a member of the Catholic Church. She spent her entire married life on a farm in Butler County one mile from her place of birth. Mrs. Haney was preceded in death by her husband, John Haney; infant daughter, Alice; a son, Charles; and a grandson, Kenneth Beebe. She is survived by her children, Everett Haney and Mary Bebe of Rising City, Mildred Haney and Margaret Cady of Omaha, Helen Rozanek of Columbus, Tom and Harold Haney of Prairie City, S. D., and Jean Haney of Laramie, Wyo.; two grandchildren and six great grand-children. Relatives attending the funeral from out of town were from Council Bluffs, Iowa, Prairie City, S. D., Ocean Springs, Miss., Creston, Iowa, Laramie, Wyo., Lincoln, Fremont, and Omaha.
