John Marek Of Penelope Dies Friday John Marek, 74, of Penelope died Friday night in West Community Hospital. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Catholic Church of Nativity in Penelope, with Rev. Bohumil Hruby as celebrant. Burial followed in St. Mary's Cemetery in Penelope. Rosary was recited Monday at 7:30 p.m. at Kotch Funeral Home Chapel in West. Mr. Marek was born near West and farmed in the Penelope area until 1949 when he moved to Los Angeles, Calif. There he was employed by Krehler Furniture Co. until he moved back to Penelope in 1964. He was a member of the Catholic Church of Nativity and the KJT Society of Penelope. Survivors include three sons, Henry Marek of Gordonville; Eddie Ray Marek and William Marek, both of Penelope; one daughter, Mrs. Wilma Shilling of Penelope; one sister, Mrs. Ladin Svrcek of West; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
