Henry John "Hank" Marek, age 88, died Sunday, October 22, 2017, at Texoma Medical Center in Denison, Texas. Funeral services for will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, October 27, 2017, at Meador Funeral Home Chapel in Whitesboro with Rev. J. Ray Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Whitesboro. Visitation will be held at 1 p.m., one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Hank passed away on Sunday, October 22, 2017 at Texoma Medical Center in Denison, Texas, with his family by his side. Henry John “Hank” was born on February 25, 1929 in Mt. Calm to John Vincent and Mary (Karlik) Marek. He attended Penelope High School and joined the U.S. Marine Corp after graduation. After four years he went into Engineering with Northrop Aircraft in California and married his wife, Barbara “Dolly” Turner on April 20, 1951 in Pasadena, California. They had three girls, Marcy Marek Titus, Charlotte Marek Gambill and Mary Marek. They raised the girls in Aspen, Colorado where they owned and operated Aspen TV and Appliances. In 1972, they bought and operated Big Mineral Camp on Lake Texoma until retiring in 1984 and moved to Lake Kiowa. Survivors include his wife, Dolly Marek of Lake Kiowa; three daughters, Marcy Titus and husband Jay, Charlotte Gambill and husband Chuck, and Mary Marek; grandchildren, Christy Price, Lisha and husband, Lee Walston, Shelley and husband, Josh Waller and Mike Gambill and wife, Christy; 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers are Josh Waller, Danny Waller, Johnathan Contreras, Anthony Contreras, Darren Marek and Lee Walston. Honorary pallbearer is Chris Contreras.
