Columbus Telegram, May 5, 1971. Rising City -- Joseph Sabata, 54, died Tuesday in David City Hospital. Funeral services will be 9:30 am Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bellwood with Rev. Paul Sheehy officiating. Burial will be in Assumption Church Cemetery at Appleton. His body will lie in state at Knott Funeral Home where rosary is set for 7:30PM Thursday. He was born Nov. 26, 1916, in Butler County to Frank and Karolina Markvari Sabata. He married Alice Koza Oct. 5, 1937, at Bruno. They lived in Rising City area where he farmed. He was a member of St. Joseph Holy Name Society. Children: Marvin, Raymond, Kenny, Lyle, Russell, LeRoy, Shirley (Wittulski) Survivors include his widow:; daughter, Mrs. Donald (Shirley) Wifhulski of David City; five sons, Marvin of Osceola, Raymond of Hampton, Leroy of Monroe, Lyle and Russell at home; nine grandchildren; one brother, Frank Jr. of Bellwood; four sisters, Mmes. Aloys (Mary) Samek of Wahoo Joseph (Cecilia) Praest of Nezperc, Idaho, Percy (Carolyn) Dockweiler of Colon and Allen (Matilda) Schuster of Shelby, Iowa.
