Born in the village of Lomy, town of Jemnice, county of Znojmo, Moravia, Austrian Empire (now in the Czech Republic). '''''''''''''''''''''' People's Banner (David City, Nebr.), October 22, 1925, p. 1, col. 5 OBITUARY Joseph Havel was born in Moravia, March 12, 1853. He died at his home in Butler County, October 15th, 1925, at the age of 70 years, eight months and three days. Funeral services were held at Appleton, October 18, and the body buried in the Appleton cemetery. After coming to America, Mr. Havel followed farming until he was called home by his creator. Rev. Father Berhelst conducted the funeral services. The pall bearers were Chas. Voboril, George Fleming, Anton Rolenc, Joseph Rolenc, John Porkony, Frank Andel. Mr. Havel leaves to mourn his passing an aged wife, two sons Joseph and Ludvik, and three daughter, Mary Stava, Anna Grubaugh, and Emma Havel. There were present from away at the funeral services, Mrs. A. Shonka, F. A. Henesch and wife, Mrs. Vopalensky, John Vitera and wife. ___ CARD OF THANKS We wish to extend our sincere thanks to the kind friends and neighbors who gave us sympathy and assistance during the illness and death of our husband and father.
