''''''''''''''' The Banner-Press (David City, Nebr.), January 13, 1955, p. 5, col. 4 & 5 Services Held At Dwight for John Trojan, 86 Funeral services for John Trojan, 86, Dwight resident, were held on Monday, Dec. 20 from the Assumption Catholic Church in Dwight. The Rev. Edward Orzechowski officiated and music was by the Assumption School choir. Pallbearers were Raymond Semin, Nick Semin, Edwin Zitek, Richard Trojan, Leo Zitek and Francis Trojan, grandsons of the deceased. Burial was in the Dwight Catholic Cemetery. Mr. Trojan died on Friday, Dec. 17, 1954, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Frank Zitek, where he had been cared for the two weeks of his final illness when he was bedfast. Born on Nov. 9, 1868, in Czechoslovakia, he was the son of Joseph and Anna Trojan. Coming from his native land to Saunders county, he first made his home in Plasi. He became an American citizen on Dec. 15, 1904. On Nov. 18, 1890 he was united in marriage to Miss Marie Fencl of Prague at Plasi. Six children were born to them. They made their home in Bruno and Ulysses. His wife died on Christmas Eve, 1935. He retired from farming in 1940 and then made his home with his son, Joseph, at Dwight. Besides his farm activity he also organized bands in the Bruno vicinity. Mr. Trojan was well respected and had many friends. He was a devout Catholic and was a member of the Katolicky Delnik (Catholic Workmen). Surviving him are his six children: Louis Trojan of Ogallala, Mrs. Ed Semin (Anna) of Bee, John Trojan of Beaver Crossing, Joseph Trojan and Mrs. Frank Zitek (Rose) of Dwight and Rudolph Trojan of Ulysses; 19 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie, and two brothers and his parents. Out of town friends and relatives at the services were from Beaver Crossing, Ogallala, Wakumois, Okla., Omaha, North Bend, Prague, Bruno, Seward, Bee, Ulysses, Garland, Staplehurst, Brainard, Morse Bluff, Malmo and Utica.
