Maiden name from her children's marriage records: Antonia (Saunders County Marriages, Vol. D, p. 240), Mary (Saunders County Marriages, Vol. E, p. 316), and John (Butler County Marriages, Vol. 6, p. 35). John's obituary also states it was Hromas: Seward County Independent (Seward, Nebr.), May 1, 1963, p. 6, col. 4. Presumably related to Frantisek Hromas (#195710145), who was born in the same village in Czechia as her husband and lived near her in Saunders County, Nebr. The 1900 census lists Katie Tesina in Plum Creek Township, Butler County, Nebr. with her son John Tesina and his wife and children. The census states she was a widow, 74 years old, born Aust-Bohemian, and the mother of three children, two living. She was buried Monday in the cemetery south of town.
