Born in Frydnava, Bohemia, Austrian Empire (now in Czechia). Married Frank Policky on October 23, 1905 at Dwight, Nebr. by Rev. Alois J. Klein, Catholic priest. Their son Emil was killed in action during World War II and Mary was a Gold Star Mother of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 110. Policky of Dwight were conducted Monday, Dec. 24, from Dwight Assumption Catholic Church with Father Harold Birkel officiating. Mrs. Policky, 89, died in Bryan Memorial Hospital, Lincoln, Friday, Dec. 21, following a short illness. Pallbearers were George Hraban, Edwin Hotovy, Frank Brabec, Sr., John H. Novacek, Alfred Novacek and Chas. A. Novacek. Burial was in Dwight Assumption Cemetery. Mrs. Policky, daughter of John and Mary Korinek, was born Nov. 15, 1884, in Czechoslovakia. As a small child she came to the United States with her parents. They settled in the Nimburg area where she attended school. In 1905 she was united in marriage to Frank J. Policky. Four children were born to this union. The couple moved to a farm near Ulysses where they lived until Mr. Policky's death in 1912. Mrs. Policky and her children then moved to Dwight where she resided until her death. She was one of the first Gold Star Mothers in the Dwight area. She was the last survivor of her immediate family which consisted of five brothers and two sisters. Her sole survivor is her son, Fred J. Policky of Lincoln. Besides her husband she was preceded in death by her daughter, Katie, and two sons, Phillip and Emil, the latter being killed while serving in World War II. ____ p. 7, col. 1 CARD OF THANKS – We wish to thank our friends and relatives for the masses, flowers, cards and food during the death of our loved one.
