Vaclav J. (James) Vrbka, the son of Frank and Karolina Havlovic, was born December 20, 1901, near Brainard, Butler County, Nebraska, USA, where he lived all of his life. On January 13, 1931, he was married to Rose Mary Samek at Bee Village, B Township, Seward County, Nebraska, USA, and five children were born to this union: three sons and two daughters. He died October 24, 1959, in David City, Butler County, Nebraska, USA, following a heart attack suffered a few days earlier. Funeral services were conducted October 28, 1959, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Brainard, officiated by the Rev. Charles Rada. Burial was in the Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery (new) in Brainard. He is survived by his widow, five children, three grandchildren, four brothers and one sister. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Edward John Vrbka (1886-1949) and Vaclav Vrbka (1889-1892) (Some information taken from his obituary in The Banner Press newspaper, David City, Butler County, Nebraska, USA, October 29, 1959.)
