Bio

Sarah Mariah LeGrand was born April 28, 1857 in Warren County, Kentucky, daughter of Coleman LeGrand (1815-1904) and Martha Harmon (1815-1858). On March 7, 1876 in Butler County, Kentucky, Sarah married James N. Harmon who was born July 18, 1852 in Warren County, Kentucky, son of John R. Harmon (1825-1914) and Nancy Jane Pearson (1831-1916). Sarah and James had three known children: Thomas Z. Harmon (1877-1941); Lemuel Gillard Harmon (1879-1957); and Elysses Marvin Harmon (1886-1961). Sarah died December 8, 1923 in Durant, Oklahome (Bryan County) and was buried there in the Highland Cemetery. James died April 8, 1935 in Hartley, Texas (Hartley County) and was buried in Durant in the Highland Cemetery beside his wife.
