Columbus Telegram Tuesday August 10, 1999 John Kantor Jr. COLUMBUS : John Stanley Kantor Jr., 71, 1215 16th St., died Sunday, Aug. 8, 1999, at Columbus Community Hospital Inc. Services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church with the Rev. Dan Keller officiating. Burial is in All Saints Cemetery with military honors by American Legion Hartman Post 84 Honor Guard. Visitation is from 3-9 p.m. today at McKown Funeral Home with a 7 p.m. vigil. Visitation will continue from 8-10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Mr. Kantor was born on Sept. 21, 1927, in Osceola to John and Dora (Hapday) Kontor. He graduated from Silver Creek High School in 1945. He served in the U.S. Army from March 20, 1946, until his discharge on April 12, 1947. He married Marilyn Mae Prochaska on April 30, 1955, at St. MaryÕs Pilsno Church. He was a farmer and worked at Becton-Dickinson and Platte County Agricultural Park until his retirement. He belonged to the church and Eagles Club. Survivors are his wife; two sons, John of Camp Casey, South Korea, and David J. (Erin) of Manhattan, Kan.; three daughters, Debra K. (Kenneth) Dohmen, Michelle M. Boss, all of Columbus, and Christine A. (Shawn) Million of Colorado Springs, Colo.; four sisters, Clara (Stanley) Bojan and Marion Matyja, all of Omaha, Rosie (George) Furasek of Weston and Genevieve Konwinski of Columbus; two brothers, Edmond (Dorothy) of Osceola and Valerian (Helen) of Omaha; and eight grandchildren.
