BURWELL - Blanche Wadas, 65, of Burwell died Sunday, Aug. 19, 2012, at her home. Mrs. Wadas' wishes were to be cremated. Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Burwell. The Revs. Tom Ryan and Mark Maresh will officiate. Inurnment will be in the Ord Catholic Cemetery. The rosary will be recited at 10 a.m. Friday at the church. Ord Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Wadas was born July 14, 1947, in Valley County to Joseph W. and Mary (Bruha) Urbanovsky. Survivors of the immediate family include her husband, Paul of Burwell; four sons and two daughters-in-law, Jeffrey Wadas, Douglas Wadas, both of Burwell, Bryan and Kati Wadas of Comstock and Justin and Rachael Wadas of Jacksonville, Fla.; one brother, Stanley R. Urbanovsky of St. Paul; a sister and brother-in-law, Olga and Eugene Michalski of Burwell. Additional survivors include three grandchildren, Nathan Wadas and Reagan and Alex Wadas; and several nieces, nephews and their families. She was baptized at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Elyria on June 13, 1958, along with her brother and sister. Blanche attended Eureka District 32 grade school and graduated from Burwell High School in 1965. Following graduation, she was employed at the ASCS Office in Ord for eight years, and then returned to work there from 1985 to 1995. She then worked part time at Cass Construction Company in Ord for 10 years. On April 24, 1971, Blanche was united in marriage to Paul L. Wadas at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Ord. Paul, Blanche and their sons lived south of Burwell in Valley County where they farmed and raised cattle. Blanche always enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, raising chickens and helping with the livestock. She also helped her sons cut cedar trees. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Burwell and WFLA Lodge 112. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister-in-law, Marlene Urbanovsky.
