Bio

Vera Nancy Jane Hanks was born on May 23, 1902 in Benton Twp, Wayne, Iowa, the 10th child of James Riley Hanks (age 42) and Emma Etta Rogers (age 34). She married Roy Filmore Nelson, Sr. on April 12, 1920 when she was 17 and had eight children with him. Vera Nancy Jane died on December 7, 1981 in Santa Clara, California when she was 79.
