Gerald Franklin Hedrick passed away on Saturday February 4, 1978 at Irving Community Hospital in Irving Texas after a 2 month battle with cancer. He was a loving father and husband. Gerald (Jerry) was born on December 2, 1932 to the parents of Gilbert Bernard and Edna Martha (Nichols) Hedrick in Delphos, Ohio. He was the oldest of 7 children. He graduated high school in 1950 at St. John's High School in Delphos, Ohio. After graduation he joined the U.S. Air Force and was stationed at Clark Air Force Base in the Philippines during the Korean Conflict. He was an aircraft mechanic during his time in the service. When he returned from the Philippines he settled in Dallas, Texas working for Braniff International and American Airlines. In 1965 he left the airline industry and went to work for Miehle Goss Dexter, working on and repairing paper cutters in the printing industry. In 1972 he opened GH Bindery in Dallas with his friend Wayne Gillespie. In 1974 he sold his part of the business to Wayne and started Graphic Equipment Company. He bought and sold printing equipment and was the only independent paper cutter repairman in Texas at the time. He married Johnsey Cowan on February 23, 1958 in Durant Oklahoma and again on March 25, 1958 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Dallas. He was a 16 year resident of Irving and a founding member of Holy Family Catholic Church. Mr. Hedrick is survived by his wife Johnsey Hedrick of Irving; Son, Loren and daughter Lisa, both of Irving; brothers Roger Hedrick of Brookville, Indiana, David Hedrick and Dennis Hedrick of Delphos, Ohio; sisters Mary Ann House, Irving, Kathleen Skilling, Bryan Ohio; father , Gilbert Hedrick, Lima, Ohio; mother Edna Hedrick, Irving. He was preceded in death by his brother Lewis Edward Hedrick in 1938. A Rosary will be held on Monday February 6, 1978 at 8:00 p.m. at Donnelly's Colonial Funeral Home and a Mass of Christian burial will be on Tuesday February 7, 1978 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family of Nazareth Catholic Church in Irving. Entombment will be a Calvary Hill Cemetery in Dallas, Texas.
