Bio

Married Wencil Dosek. They immigrated to the United States on the SS Hansa which arrive in New York City from Bremen [Germany] and Southampton [England] on June 12, 1873. The ship manifest lists Wenzl Doschek (age 30 years, farmer), Frantzka (30), Joh (6), Franz (5), Josef (3), Anton (2), and Wenzl (6 months), all from Bohemia-Austria. They settled in Elk Creek Precinct, Saunders County, Nebr. where they are listed on the 1880 census: Vencel Dosek (age 32 years, farmer, born Bohemia), Francis (wife, 38, keeping house, Bohemia), John (son, 14, Bohemia), Frank (son, 12, Bohemia), Vencel (son, 8, Bohemia), Mary (daughter, 5, Nebr.), Andres (son, 3, Nebr.), Anna (daughter, 6 months, born Dec., Nebr.). The 1885 census lists Fransika Doschek in Elk Creek Precinct with her children: Fransika Doschek (age 46, widowed, farming, born Moravia), Frank (son, 16, at school, Moravia), Vaclav (son, 13, at school, Moravia), Mary (daughter, 10, at school, Nebr.), and He (son, 3, Nebr.). In 1900 and 1910 Frantiska Dosek lived in Dwight, Nebr. Both censuses stat she was the mother of 10 children, four living. '''''''''''''''''''''''''''' The Ulysses Dispatch (Ulysses, Nebr.), December 8, 1915, p. 5, col. 4 "Grandma" Dosek, who had been sick for many weeks, died Monday afternoon and the funeral will be held at Dwight, where interment will occur. ''''''''''''''' The Brainard Clipper (Brainard, Nebr.), December 9, 1915, p. 5, col. 3 DWIGHT NEWS Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Hajek of Sherman county came down Tuesday to attend the funeral of her mother Mrs. Dosek. Fred Holesovsky and wife of Brainard were Dwight visitors Wednesday. Mr. Holesovksy had charge of Mrs. Dosek's funeral. Mrs. Frances Dosek died here on Monday, December 6, at the age of 82 years. Funeral services were held at the Catholic church Wednesday at 3:00 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Father Pazovrek. Deceased leaves to mourn her departure three sons and one daughter, as follows: Frank and W. F. Dosek of Dwight, Andrew of Buffalo county and Mrs. Jos. J. Hajek of Sherman county, all of whom were present at the funeral. ''''''''''''''''''''''' Butler County Press (David City, Nebr.), December 9, 1915, p. 10, col. 2 & 3 Dwight. Mrs. Frances Dosek, who had been ill for some time, died at 4:40 p.m. Monday, Dec. 6, at the home of her son, W. F. Dosek. Her death was due to rheumatism and her advanced age. She was 75 years old. Two sons, W. F. and F. A. Dosek, both of Dwight, survive her.
