From the St. Paul Republican, December 21, 1905, page 1, transcribed by Linda Berney: Death of Mrs. Theodore Sevcik - Mrs. Alice Sevcik, wife of Theodore Sevcik, died at her home in Warsaw precinct Saturday evening, December 15, after an illness of three weeks, aged 18 years and 16 days. Mrs. Sevcik was born and raised in this county, being a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Manasil of Warsaw. She was married November 21, 1904, and besides a grief-stricken young husband leaves an infant son to mourn her loss. The funeral was held at Warsaw Catholic church Monday morning at 11 o'clock by Rev. Joseph Rose, interment being made in the cemetery nearby. The sympathy of the entire community is extended to the relatives in their sore affliction. ~~~~ From the Elba News column of the same issue: There has been an unusual number of deaths in this vicinity during the past week. On Saturday Mrs. Theodore Sevcik died at her home near Warsaw after a short illness. She leaves a husband and a 2-weeks-old infant to mourn her loss. This is a very sad case, the deceased being a young woman who after one short year of wedded life, is called to the eternal home, leaving a devoted husband and a little boy who will never know a mother's care. The funeral was held Monday, interment being made in the Warsaw Catholic cemetery.
