Brym He Passed Away April 9 Was Prominent Business Man in Butler County John A. Brym, president of the First National Bank, a prominent business man at Dwight for a number of years before coming to David City, poassed aay at his home in North David city at 1:35 o'clock Thursday morning, April 9, in his 54th year. John Anton Brym was born in Czechoslavakia January 1, 1883, and when he was about a year old came with his parents to America. They lived in Omaha several years then moved to Butler county, on a farm near Dwight, where Mr. Brym grew to manhood, helping his father on the farm and later in a hardware store. He was married to Frances Mares 34 years ago. They made their home at Dwight for a number of years, Mr. Brym at one time operating a grocery store and then a pool hall, later going into the real estate business. He was associated with John Krenk in the firm of Krenk & Brym, until coming to David City as vice-president of the First National Bank in October 1922. He became president of the bank in 1930. Two daughters, Mary and Emily, were born to Mr. and Mrs. Brym. Mary, the first-born daughter, died at the age of nine months. Emily is now Mrs. Alex Pohl, of David City. He also leaves his wife and three grandchildren, as well as his parents Mr. and Mrs. Anton Brym, Sr., Deweese, three brothers, Anton of Dwight, Ed of Clarks and William of Atwood Kas., and five sisters, Mrs. J. Robinson and Mrs. Glen Cook of Greeley, Colo., Mrs. James Drudik and Mrs. Emil Dalluge of Deweese and Mrs. Frank Krenk of near Milford. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic church, a member of the Modern Woodmen of America and the Catholic Workmen. Funeral services were held at the home at 9:30 a.m. Mlonday and at St. Mary's Catholic church, David City, at 10 a.m. Burial was in the Dwight cemetery.
