Bio

Butler Daily Democrat, Butler, MO, Saturday, Sept 9, 1893, pg 1: New Editor --- Andy P. Hackett has taken charge of that ably edited and well conducted paper from the start, the Rich Hill Tribune, having leased the same. Mr. Hackett is a son of Samuel Hackett, a highly esteemed citizen and ex-Mayor of Rich Hill and a nephew of Hon. Pierce Hackett, the noted populist. A. P. learned the art preservative in the Review office and is a skilled typo also has had considerable experience in local work. We predict that he will make a great success of the Tribune editorially and financially as Mr. Hackett is possessed of marked ability, untiring energy, considerable ambition and he will "push the work." We wish him personally success and his paper, barring politics, unstinted prosperity. Rich Hill Mining Review, Rich Hill, MO, Thursday, May 29, 1919, pg 6: Andy Hackett Dies at Girard --- Mrs. J. J. Heck received a sad message conveying the news of the death of her brother, Andrew Hackett, 52 years old, who died at Girard, Kansas, Thursday, May 22, of Bright's disease. He was a resident of Rich Hill some years ago, and many friends will regret to learn of his death. He is survived by a wife and one daughter. Burial was made at Girard, Friday afternoon. Mr. Heck attended the funeral services.
