Funeral services for Mary E. Fendrich of Abie were conducted Monday , August 14 from the Svoboda Funeral Home in Schuyler. Mrs. Fendrich 97, died Thursday August 10, at the Birchwood Manor, North Bend where she had been a resident since 1980. Pallbearers were Don and Robert Bohaty, Bill Myers, Dennis and Randy Fendrich and Joe Bohaty. Burial was in the Bohemian National Cemetery, Abie, Butler County, Nebraska. Mary E. Fendrich, daughter of Joseph and Catherine Hlavac Slosser, was born September 28, 1891, in Butler County. She attended the Butler County Rural School. She was united in marriage to Jerry J. Fendrich January 9, 1912 at Abie. Two children were born to this union. A homemaker, she lived in Abie from 1939 until going to Birchwood Manor. She is survived by a son Jerry of Prague; a daughter, Mrs. Louis (Mildred) Bohaty of Schuyler: a sister, Mrs. Stanley (Rose) Cernohlavek of Milford: four grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
