Bio
Margaret Kliewer, the daughter of David J. and Margaretha (Penner) Regehr, was born in Mountain Lake, Minnesota on January 13, 1916 and died in Aurora, Nebraska on January 19, 2002, at the age of 86 years. Margaret grew up on a farm. She attended Butterfield Elementary and Mountain Lake Public School. She was baptized at Bethel Church in Mountain Lake. Margaret received her L.P.N. Diploma from the Chicago School of Nursing in 1947. Margaret was united in marriage to John Kliewer on April 10, 1948 at Mountain Lake, Minnesota. They lived in the Henderson area, where they raised their four children, two sons and two daughters. They moved to the Stockham area in 1960. Over the years Margaret worked as the janitor for the Stockham Church and School and a Medical Aide at the Bethesda Home. John passed away on October 9, 1979. Margaret loved gardening and baking, when she baked she loved to make zwieback, which she shared with family and friends. She made quilts for each of her daughters, grandchildren and again for each grandchild when they were married. Margaret enjoyed her sewing circles at the Bethesda Church and Stockham Ladies Ministry. She stayed very active, including going to Senior Center activities in Aurora. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, an infant daughter, a son-in-law and four brothers and two sisters. Margaret is survived by her four children; two sons, John W. Kliewer and his wife Sharon, Harry J. Kliewer and his wife Margie all of Stockham; two daughters, Darlene L. Penner and her husband Ed of Marquette and Marjorie J. Strong and her husband William of Giltner; 11 grandchildren, Jennifer Kaliff and her daughter Taylor, Kathy Day and her son Bryce, Quintin Penner, Erica Penner, Laurie Dreitz and her husband Brian and their daughter, Virginia, John J. Kliewer and his wife Tammy, Elizabeth Kliewer, Heidi Kliewer, Nick Kliewer, Luke Kliewer and Melissa Strong; a brother, Albert Regehr and his wife Olga of Robbinsdale, Minnesota; a sister, Rosella Neufeld and her husband Ervin of Mountain Lake, Minnesota; two sister-in-laws, Mabel Regehr of Minnesota and Sarah Regehr of Windom, Minnesota; Nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends.
