Bio

Sunday, October, 3, 2010, Our Sweet Lord came and peacefully guided Debbie to heaven as her beloved family was by her side at her home in Mesquite, TX. Debbie, at the age of 57, fought a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer, and is now pain free and at peace with the Lord. She was greeted by a host of family angels that were there to welcome her home. Debbie was born to Jimmy and Peggy Garvin on January 20, 1953, in Dallas, TX. She graduated from Mesquite High School and went on to attend Tyler Junior College. She then met the love of her life and married Randall Sewell on February 26, 1972. Debbie will be remembered by her family and friends as always being there to help someone who needed her. She loved the sound of a Harley passing by; she enjoyed being outside camping or just spending time with her family and friends. Debbie could always be counted on for a quick trip to the ‘boats’ with the girls or to be anywhere she was needed. Her knack for creatively fixing things earned her the nickname of “MacGyver among family and friends. She will be remembered for her many evenings sitting around the card table, the beautiful cakes she made, her willingness to lend an ear, but most of all; she will be remembered for the love and compassion she showed to everyone who was blessed enough to know her. Debbie leaves to carry on her memory three daughters: Deborah and husband Robert Anderson, Sharon and husband Trevor Tanner, and Samantha Nunn; grandchildren Heather, Steven, Jessica, Destiny, Grace, Anthony and Megan; great grandsons Cody and James . Brother Joe Garvin and wife Debbie, sister-in-law Karla Stiger; companion Brian Mitchell; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends. The angels awaiting her in heaven were her husband of 30 years Randall Clay Butcher Sewell Sr.; son Randall Clay Sewell Jr.; parents Jimmy and Peggy Garvin; and brother Jimmy Wayne Garvin. Visitation with family and friends will be held at Laurel Oaks Funeral Home in Mesquite, Texas, on Wednesday, October 6, 2010 from 6:00-8:00 PM. Services will be held on Thursday, October 7, 2010, at 10:00 AM. Thanks to JanieWilkey
